Could there be a better crime action movie? I think not. This movie was perfectly cast and had an outstanding blend of crime, action, sleuthing, mystery, and the characters? well, that’s the best part. Javier Bardem – The ultimate evil person that cuases bloodshed wherever he goes (even though one of my favorite scenes is the twisted process he employed to determine whether or not to spare the roadside gas station attendant’s life), Josh Brolin – the perfectly cast gun toting, hunting, trailer-living texan — but with an edginess and risky purpose that keeps going like the Energizer bunny… Then there’s Tommy Lee Jones – another perfect casting for him as the natural-born crime detective that has an amazing yet somehow believable knack for figuring things out. And to top it off, Woody Harrelson comes in as a gritty character that has you going for a while, but then goes out unceremoniously. Barry Corbin’s stint as Jones’ father seemed too short to me, as I loved the interaction he brought with Jones. The story was ruthlessly engaging with both Javier and Josh coming up with McGuyver-like resourcefulness in continuing the hunt, chase, and escape — followed up with Jones’ persistence – a perfect cast for a fantastic story which doesn’t end like you’d expect.
