BrianSez's Review

Summary - Great 4.0

A great feel-good movie that is perfect for kids and young families. This movie creates a very effective blend of fantasy and reality amidst a unique setting that intriguing and very special. Of course, there is the prerequisite bad-guys, scary adventure, rescue, etc. – but nothing too sinister or scary even for the youngest of viewers. When I read the description of the movie, I thought I would hate it, but I actually was pleasantly surprised at the the great entertainment and went away feeling good.

Acting - Great 4.0

Abigail Breslin was perfectly cast for this, as was Jodie Foster as a neurotic adventure novel writer. Gerard Butler wasn’t that memorable, but did a decent job as the fictional hero and real-life dad.
