An entertaining movie with the interesting premise of a lone survivor of an infectious virus in New York City that turns the afflicted in to killers. The special effects were Ok, and I really enjoyed how the situation got more surreal as the story progressed. The hunter turned in to the hunted. I was touched by the bond between Will Smith and his dog “Sam” — it brought the most realism to a story that otherwise was a bit of a stretch.
I heard mixed reviews on this one, so I lowered my expectations. I was, however, pleasantly surprised that it turned out so well. Its good as a film if you don’t compare it to the novel and the other film adaptations. I was a little afraid that this would turn out like Cast Away but this one was a lot better.
