BrianSez's Review

Summary - Very Good 3.5

Kevin Spacey was perfect as the calculating MIT math professor who “corrupted” students by sucking them in to the money-making world of Vegas card-counting. I also liked Jim Sutgess and Kate Bosworth as the pair who, besides Spacey, are the stars of the show with decent chemistry between them. Jim has a good-boy charm worthy of getting the girl, and Kate is both hot and believable as a nice girl. Lawrence Fishburne also puts in a noteworthy appearance as the casino cop – threatened by new world technology for catching the bad guys. The movie is a tad formulaic, but nonetheless great fun to watch – with some interesting twists. After all, who doesn’t have dreams of beating the odds in Vegas?
