Bond continues his quest to find the wrong-doer behind the death of his girlfriend of Casino Royale. This movie once again shows that the polished refinement of Bonds gone by, are in fact, history. Raw, physical, and action packed, QoS shows once again that the new Bond takes no prisoners and that there is a method to the madness. This was a thoroughly entertaining movie from start to finish. Lots of fun!
Daniel Craig is a great Bond, but in a rough machismo kind of way. His lines are more blunt than of Bonds of the past, but somehow that makes the character even more believable.
A little bit more mayhem this time around with a story that isn’t so linear — even though there was only one plot line. Of course, the plot line wasn’t so important I suppose, with all the spellbinding action.
Lots of violence, but just hints of sex by today’s standards. Almost a letdown?
Reality? Ummm, no — but that’s what makes it so fun! I gave it a lower rating than you might expect because there was a remarkable drop in the amount of gagetry used. Might I even say “standard issue”?
In order, funniest to least funny, so far for me:
- Forgetting Sarah Marshall (90% LOL)
- Tropic Thunder (60% LOL)
- Pineapple Express (40% LOL)
- What Happens in Vegas (30% LOL, though the trailers gave most of it away)
- Semi-Pro (10% LOL)
