The Stoned Horror Critic's Review
Summary -
Really Great
4.5
This is probabely one of my favourite movies ever. Perfect combination of emotion and action. This movie is just the perfect fantasy / action.
Acting -
Very Good
3.5
This movie isn’t exactly known for it’s acting, but it’s actors played the parts well. Christopher Lambert was great as Connor MacLeod (my favourite movie hero), and Sean Connery, though he was only in it for about 15 minutes, was great as Remirez. The guy who played the Kurgen was also very good.

For 1985, it had very good poicture. By our standards, however, it’s okay.

Edge -
Risqué
1.8
By todays standards, this would either be a REALLY raw PG-13 or a REaLLY tame R. Back then, however, it was probabely considered an average R.
Sex
Erotic
2.6
The only scene that SHOWS anything is the scene where Connor has sex with Brenda. And boy, it was HOT! I had a boner for about nine months after I first watched that.
Violence
Gentle
1.4
There's alot of action, but the only real violence is when an Immortal decapitates another Immortal, but that's very tame.
Rudeness
Polite
1.3
Very politte, no racial or anti semetic dialogue, though there is one mention of rape and one mention of a whore.
Reality -
Supernatural
3.1
Immortals sword fighting in the middle of New York City in 1985? Awesome, but it doesn’t happen every day.
Circumstantial -
Supernatural
3.1
I guess there are real decapitations that happen in NYC, but that's it.
Biological -
Glib
1.4
Excluding the aspect of getting stabbed in the torso repeatedly and NOT dying, the movie's pretty biologically accurate.
Physical -
Supernatural
3.1
Sword Fighting is completely beleivable, but the aspect of Immortals, sadly, is not.
