If you are a lover of reading then you have probably always wonder what it would be like if the characters could come to life. Well, there are a few that can bring characters out of there books and they are called Silvertongues. Sometimes they don’t know that they can do this until it is too late like Mo Folchart. One night while reading to his wife and daughter he brought some villians out of a book called Inkheart. That was when he found out that when you read a character out, someone must take there place and his wife went missing. Now Capricorn is looking for Mo because he wants him to read out the most horrible villian in Inkheart and he will threaten the life of his daughter Meggie to get him to do it. A strange twist of events gets Meggie kidnapped by Capricorn and Mo must come to her rescue.
It is a delightful family movie and a very unique idea based on a novel by Cornelia Funke. Though if you have read the book you might find yourself a bit dissapointed like I was at the lack of depth of this movie and the details of the book. They tried to hard to make it a short movie (hour and a half) that they really leave out a lot of information and switch things that are in the book. I just think that if they can make a Harry Potter movie go for 2 to 2 and a half hours they could have given the same amount of time to this book adored by so many young people.
While reading Inkheart I would not have picked Brendan Fraser for Mo, but watching the movie I think he did a decent job. Helen Mirren was great as Elinor.
Very mild movie, only one D*** word said, a few scary parts but other than that nothing. It was rated PG.
The whole story is based on a man being able to bring characters out of a book, no reality there..lol.
