BrianSez's Review

Summary - Great 4.0

This movie probably one of the pioneers in the “mockumentary” category. It follows the quircky behaviors of couples involved in the world of show dogs. Outrageously funny at times, this is a movie that requires you to pay attention to get all of the humor, but at other times allows your brain to rest as the silliness unfolds. Don’t miss it!

Acting - Perfect 5.0

I can’t think of a better ensemble of characters than the ones that were put together for this film. I was roaring with laughter at Parker Posey and Michael Hitchcock at the neurotic and stressed out couple. Eugene Levy sports a pair of hillbilly front teeth and a goofy persona along side his “a little too easy” wife played by Catherine O’Hara. Christopher Guest at Harlan Pepper – gets praise because of his deadpan portrayal of a backwoods hound owner. You can’t forget Jennifer Coolidge as the self centered bombshell. Michael McKean and John Higgins as the flaming gay couple. Ed Begley Jr is a perfect fit for the perfectionist yet accomodating hotel manager. FInally, Fred Willard as the tasteless announcer that mocks the whole show — hillarious!
