Summary - Very Good 3.5
Christopher Lee stands out as the titular vampire in Freddie Francis’ gloriously corny Hammer concoction. His portrayal of Dracula might just me the most sexualised version of all time, no small feat when compared with the myriad poseurs and imitators that have taken on the role since his memorable performances set the standard. And Lee is probably the best thing about “Dracula Has Risen from the Grave,” though the movie gains considerable credit for how its box-ticking of the olde-times cliches don’t seem like a chore to endure. Francis has made a gleeful, inspired, if not particularly scary vampire movie that is neither groundbreaking nor challenge. Except, maybe, for Lee’s starring efforts.
Acting - Very Good 3.5
Lee is terrific, but the remainder of the cast don’t succeed at standing out all that much in the background. The characters and the cast are both interchangeable, basically.
