OUTSTANDING MOVIE. FANTASTIC STORY. WONDERFUL ACTING.
MR. BROOKS IS A VERY SUCCESSFUL MAN, HAS A VERY HAPPY FAMILY, HAS A MILLION DOLLAR BOX COMPANY AND WAS RECENTLY NAMED “MAN OF THE YEAR”. WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE WRONG WITH A LIFE LIKE THAT, RIGHT?
WELL, THIS IS WHERE THE REAL STORY KICKS IN.
YOU SEE. MR. BROOKS HAS A SEVERE CASE OF SQUIZOPHRENIA. AND THIS VOICE HE LISTENS TO, INSITES HIM TO KILL.
NOW, MR. BROOKS STOP KILLING FOR 2 YEARS, BUT HIS VOICE DRIVES HIM FOR ANOTHER KILL. SO HE DOES, AND THEN THE REAL PROBLEM COMES IN WHEN A PHOTOGRAPHER COMES TO HIM SHOWING HIM THE PICTURES THAT HE TOOK THAT NIGHT OF HIM.
BUT WHAT HE WANTS OUT OF THIS IS THE QUESTION.
THE MAJOR ATRACTION OF THIS MOVIE IS THE INTERACTION BETWEEN KEVIN COSTNER AND WILLIAM HURT. KEVIN WANTS TO FIGHT HIS ADDICTION OF KILLING WHILE WILLIAM WANTS TO KEEP ON LIVING BY MAKING KEVIN KILL.
AND DANE COOK, SEEING HIM OUT OF COMEDY, MAKES ME KEEP ON THINKING THAT COMEDIANS CAN ACT WELL IF THEY ARE IN GOOD HANDS, CHARACTERS, ETC.
EVERYBODY IS WONDERFUL IN THIS MOVIE.
THIS SCRIPT IS WONDERFUL. THIS, ACTUALLY HAS INSPIRED ME IN SOME STORIES I WRITE. THE DIRECTION IS BEAUTIFUL, (i. e.) I QUITE FELT THE RUSH HE HAD WHEN HE KILLED THAT COUPLE AT THE BEGINNING.
EVEN THOUGH IT ALSO HAD IT’S CLICHED MOMENTS LIKE AT THE LAST SCENE WITH DEMI MOORE.
YOU JUST HAVE TO SEE THIS MOVIE.
THE WHOLE POINT IS TRYING TO MAKE MR. BROOKS FEEL LIKE IT COULD BE YOUR NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR AND NOT KNOWING HIS SECRET
