A mentally ill young woman finds her love in an eccentric man who models himself after Buster Keaton. -imdb.com
Benny is a man that is basically raising his mentally ill sister joon, since their parents died when they were kids. Sam is a weird man that comes into their lives and inadvertantly makes everything more exciting and more meaningful to the people around him.
Johnny Depp- Sam- He plays the weird eccentric role very well. The tricks that he does is timeless, unforgettable and very funny.
Stuart Masterson- Joon- she plays a mentally ill young woman that wants nothing more but to be independent. he plays the role well and shows the viewers that anything can be possible.
Aidan Quinn-Benny- Joon’s older brother and gaurdian. He shows how someone can go through so many struggles with someone that has a mental disability and does it well. He make you feel for the character as he’s interacting with his sister and sam.
I love the story! This story really brings out all of the sides to someone’s life, who’s life is so amazingly complicated. The park scene, the writers, pretty much the whole movie is a movie to enjoy with anyone. It’s a fun movie with real life people within the story.
How Benny and Joon lost their parents, that’s pretty sad. How Joon goes nuts on a bus, and how she stops traffic. Sam trying to be with Joon, Bennt trying to protect his sister and in the process, making it harder for the both of them. But honestly, it’s not edgy as, you know, things being intense or people dying or getting hurt. But this movie still gets to your heart, it’s a very good film. that’s all I can really say about it. One of my favorites.
A man that had to take care of his little sister after their parents die, that happens. sort of adopting new people in the small family that actually help make it better, that can happen… all in all a pretty realistic film. of course if you break into a psyciactric facility, I’m pretty sure you go to jail. but it’s still awesome.
