On a positive note: During one scene in this movie, Daniel Radcliffe gave a good performance! On a negative note, this movie was overall quite boring, taking what I vaguely remember to be a pretty slow book and turning it into a lackluster movie. While I’m sure it must have been difficult to turn a 600+ page book into a movie that didn’t require an intermission (while still retaining all of the book’s subplots and continuity), the end result was a threadbare storyline that barely covered the most important aspects of the story and was held together by the thinnest of narrative threads.
The acting hasn’t improved as the actors matured, sadly. However, as I mentioned in my summary, Daniel Radcliffe did give his best performance yet during one scene in the movie: he had to act potion-drunk — something not hard for a 20 year old Brit to do.
