An action packed drama that appeal to one’s sense to protect and fight. This film falls in the lesser known WWII stories category, and because of that is both intriguing and innately satisfying. It is always rewarding to see stories about the victims getting back at their Nazi aggressors. Fighting in a guerrilla style, Daniel Craig and crew make entertaining business of it all.
Daniel Craig, on the surface, seems a bit miscast as Tuvia Bielski. Craig is an obvious blond wasp – but this turns out not to be that important. He does a great job, and you forget all about that soon enough. Brother Live Shrieber has a great part and his enthusiastic seriousness shows.
Set mostly in the countryside, the infusion of typical war-action and drama reigns, but Edward Zwick is sure to fold in the harshness of surviving in winter, the pure human drama of survival and revenge, as well as a good old fashioned uplifting ending.
Regarding Wick’s Review
Cool. We got Daniel Craig as FreshPiks 1 & 2 right now. This guy’s like the new Cary Grant, minus the light comedy.
