This is easily my favorite movie. It is EPIC.
Jack Torrance becomes the caretaker of the Overlook Hotel up in the secluded mountains of Colorado. Jack, being a family man, takes his wife and son to the hotel to keep him company throughout the long and isolated nights. During their stay strange things occur when Jack’s son Danny sees gruesome images powered by a force called “The Shining” and Jack is heavily affected by this. Along with writer’s block and the demons of the hotel haunting him Jack has a complete mental breakdown and the situation takes a sinister turn for the worse.

The acting in this movie is AMAZING. In particular, Jack Nicholson who is an outstanding actor puts on an awesome performance. He turns from an average ordinary guy to a freakin psychopath. Shelly Duvall did a pretty awesome to. As well as Scottman Crothers and Danny Loyd. Overall for the acting A.
This is an EPIC horror movie. Stanley Kubrick takes the basic premise of the classic Stephen King book and turns it in to a terrifying movie that is 10 times better than the book. Even though it is 2 1/2 hours, it was easily the shortest 2 1/2 hours I have ever experienced. “Heeeeeere’s Johnny”
