I’ve read many Stephen King novels and am a huge fan. I have not, however, read Misery. The movie makes me want to very much.
Kathy Bates. Excellent psychopath. James Caan. Convincing torture victim. 1 + 1 = 2.
A very good, and effectively scary film. A masterpiece, if you will. Truly frightening dialogue makes Misery a truly frightening film. It hits you in the face, shocks yo, terrifies you, and repulses you. (All in a good way…)
Even though the film is bloodless, it is very sadistic and brutal. A scene involves hobbling. Don’t know what that is? Maybe that’s for the better. Not for those with a weak stomach.
Not hat unrealistic. Torture is portrayed in realistic, gritty fashion.
