Youth in Revolt is a perfect way to start the year. It’s a smart, original, and witty comedy that is well worth seeing. Michael Cerra is suprisingly good in this film, along with some very well played co-stars. None of the movie seemed too long or boring, but I was a little upset to see it wasn’t the laugh out loud comedy I was expecting. Now, don’t get me wrong, it DID have some funny parts, and I mean really funny.
Pretty good for Michael Cerra. I was upset to see that Zach Galifianakis (Alan in The Hangover) didn’t have a big part, along with Justin Long, who was on screen 3 times.
Very original style- at times a claymation or cut out animation scene would start, and some pretty good jokes came out of that.
While the sexual talk is just off and on, there is one scene where explicit drawings from a sex book come alive and float around a room.
Not very realistic.
