There are bad movie remakes, and there are horrible movie remakes. This was HORRIBLE. I felt like I was watching a movie made solely for the purpose of showcasing the choreographers and vocal coaches from “So You Think You Can Dance” and “American Idol” … no storyline, no acting, just lots of BAD performance videos.
Acting - Barely OK 2.0
The actors are OK … no standouts and certainly nothing brilliant.

Where to start … In a movie about a performing arts school, Task #1 is to make the performances convincing. They didn’t achiee this goal in this movie. In fact, there are several things that should just never happen, especially in this movie:
1) Obvious lip syncing in every single vocal selection
2) Obvious faking when showing instruments being played
3) Bad music and lyrics
4) Average acting ability
5) Sloppy choreography

I was so beyond disappointed by the music in this movie.Visuals - OK 2.5

When did it become OK to portray high school students drinking every time they’re in social situations? Not OK in my book, and it was a major portion of this movie.
