I don’t usually like anime, but if it’s under the direction of Academy Award winner Hayao Miyazaki, it’s impossible to resist. Spirited Away is what most call Miyazaki’s masterpiece. I call it one of the best movies of the past decade. I won’t go into writing a synopsis, but let’s just say this is a magical and adventurous movie. Also, don’t be fooled by the fact that this is a “kids movie”. It is NOT.
The English dubs are far from average here, as there are only one or two lines that don’t work so well. Hearing it in English doesn’t take away from the amazingness of the movie, so there’s no shame in seeing it in English.
This is one AMAZING film. It’s incredibly ambitious with its stunning animation, fantastic dialogue and a phenomenal score.
This is rated PG, so there isn’t much to worry about except for some frightening moments and an incredibly heart-warming ending.
my son loves it. fantastic review. totally agree. spirited away is a rare example of a film done perfectly.
