Classic Clint Eastwood in a newer war movie. Old rough-neck Clint deals with his aging demons, cleans up some misfits, and shows us what marines are supposed to do. This film was a little campy at times, but Clint carries it through.
I don’t think Clint had to work too hard for this movie. He just had to be himself, the rest of the movie just worked around that. He does a great job of showing how a old Marine might deal with aging and the need for something outside of his beloved corps.
Interesting choice to focus on Grenada. In the end it was very wise as it set the context of how an old gruff Marine deals with living in semi-peace post Vietnam.
