I’m not sure why, but the fourth movie of every series seems to be the most forgettable (Nightmare on Elm, Friday the 13th). That doesn’t mean Saw IV is bad, though. It’s actually quite a good one, despite the bad reviews. As with any Saw movie, this one has an INCREDIBLE twist ending that is just so out there, but so satisfying. This one doesn’t depend on the traps as much as the third, but be warned: this doesn’t mean there are no traps….
As I’ve said for the past ones, the acting is pretty good.
This one feels darker than the other ones… no, not atmospherically, but literally. Sometimes it’s hard to see what’s happening, and sometimes it looks very unpleasant to the eye (but that’s the whole point).
Not only do we have grisly violence, but now there’s a horrendous rape scene.
