A great ‘night with the kids’ movie with an uplifting tale about the driven and dedicated debaters from Wiley college in the 30’s. Yes, there’s a moral to this story, but don’t let that turn you off from watching this against-all-odds story about the scrappy debate team that eventually gets themselves in to the big leagues.
Acting - Really Great 4.5
Denzel Washington and Forest Whitaker add the big guns and top of the line acting to a very well executed albeit lesser known cast. Without exception, I found myself very interested in just about all of the characters who were equally as interesting as the story itself.
