BigdaddyDave's Review

Summary - Good 3.0

A light-hearted comedy/romance about a man who competes for the attention of a girl with her dog. Charlie (Brendan Hines) meets Daphne (Malin Akerman) the girl of his dreams, but struggles with her feisty, smart, and possessive pooch named “Babydoll”. The dog hates him, and he loathes the dog, until gradually he and the dog spend time together and become best buds.

Maybe because my current living situation is so similar, living with a despised girlfriend’s cat, I could really relate to Charlie’s angst. And yes, I watched it with said girlfriend who also could see the similarities. However we both found the movie to be fun and enjoyable, without becoming too overly romantic. It is indeed a rare treat to find a movie that we can both enjoy.

Suffice it to say, the dog in this flick is likeable. Throw in some good comedic moments, and a decent buddy movie in the end, and I would suggest it as a good date movie that won’t bore the pants off a guy watching it.
