Wick's Review

Summary - Very Good 3.5

A fine thriller with Anthony Hopkins playing his patented role as brilliant murderer. Here he’s not the savage Lector, just a cuckolded husband determined to get even.

Acting - Good 3.0

Young Ryan Gosling isn’t an overpowering actor, but he seems to gather strength as the movie goes along, ably standing up to Hopkins’ charisma and fierce intellect.

The story and script are especially well crafted, doubling back to pick up clues artfully placed earlier, and deftly building up the cat and mouse game between Hopkins and first one then another officer of the court.
