What is so cool about watching girls kick ass? I’m not entirely sure — but it works! Just like the movie Kick Ass, Hana relies on this fascination as well as some great thrills, action, suspense, and humor to take us on one heck of a ride. Plenty of espionage, action, and violence, with some humorous encounters along the way as the hyper-human Hanna and her equally stealthy dad elude the bad guys, search for roots, khas it all, and it was great fun watching!
Saoirse Roman is plays a girl who is both naïve and ruthlessly knowledgeable at the same time. A perfect persona for a young kick-ass killer. Eric Bana plays the caring father, although ruthless in his own right, is for the right. Cate Blanchett is great as the evil minded bad gal.
Even though sometimes events don’t quite flow congruently, this film does a great job at keeping the action going in a way that makes you look past its flaws and wanting more. Great use of dramatically changing scenery, and almost psychedelic approach to violence, and some great humor thrown in to the journey.
