What a wildly disappointing movie from the all-star cast that has created hilarious films such as A Mighty Wind and This Is Spinal Tap. A seemingly ill-devised, thrown-together attempt at humor, this movie — which mostly centers on 2 washed up actors — is really just a study of its own cast. Sad. Very sad.
Oh, and the opening scene at the guard’s shack? Yeah, that’s just an exact copy of what was a funny scene in Being John Malkovich. Unsurprisingly, it wasn’t nearly as funny — OK, it wasn’t funny at all — in this movie.
What’s that? Catherine O’Hara played her usual character? Eugene Levy did too? So did Harry Shearer? Christopher Guest, too? And John Michael Higgins?
Wait a minute … you mean to tell me that not a single actor in this movie played a character that was different from every character they’ve played in every other movie they’ve ever done? Lame. That’s really too bad.
One F-bomb, so be careful.
