Brandon Lee (Eric Draven) is brought back to life a year after he and his fiancée are brutally murdered. This action film uses the fantasy of reincarnation powered by revenge guided by a crow to get in plenty of action with a martial arts twist as the son of Bruce Lee dons a goth-Joker look and kicks some ass. The acting is so-so, the characters are a little over-done, and the goth fantasy shtick is a little out there, but bottom line, watching the bad guys get theirs is always fun to see.
The acting is nothing to write home about, but Brandon Lee does a reasonable job at the revengeful Eric Draven. Ernie Hudson was an entertaining Sergeant Albrecht
Apparently Brandon Lee died making this film – an accident with one of the firearms used in the show. The tragedy also claimed the career of the girl Rochelle Davis – who never returned to acting after that – despite a reasonably good job as the victimized friend. This film is the fist in what became a franchise, so the formula works well.
