BrianSez's Review

Summary - Good 3.0

In this sci-fi romance, we find out how a love-struck politician (Matt Damon) handles the knowledge that a mysterious dark-suit and hat clad bureau is trying to keep him from the object of his desire (Emily Blunt). Once again, we have a Matt Damon movie with an interesting sci-fi premise. Even though the sci-fi part was not as complex or interesting as it was in Inception, the blend with a good romance was unique and entertaining. Good story, good action, and decent acting – definitely worth the DVD rental fee.

Acting - Very Good 3.5

Matt Damon is as you’d expect – dramatic, passionate, and well suited to this action packed film. Emily Blunt showed less range than her co-star, and perhaps didn’t seem like the right fit at times, but it did work fairly well. John Slatery (from Mad Men) was good as the middle-manager of the men in hats.

Male Stars - Very Good 3.5

Female Stars - Very Good 3.5

Female Costars - Very Good 3.5

Male Costars - Very Good 3.5

Film - OK 2.5

The sci-fi was kind of cool, e.g. the need for a superior organization to save humanity from itself by keeping it on a master plan. But the fact that they go around wearing suits and hats, and work in a 30’s era office building is a bit cheesy.

Sex Titillating 1.7

Violence Fierce 1.7
