Jake Gyllenhaal channels his inner slut in to his new found role as a pharmaceutical sales rep in this formulaic romantic comedy. Will he get over himself enough to genuinely care for someone? Anne Hathaway, and her plentiful on-screen nudity sure seems poised to do so. The movie unfortunately fails to do something special with a decent plot. Not all bad, good quality comedy acting and some enjoyable steam from the happy couple. Too bad it couldn’t overcome the contrived relationship, and the not quite believable drama.
Jake Gyllenhaal is decent enough, and Anne Hathaway would have been more impact-full with more drama and less boobage. Josh Gad works very well as the goofy brother, and others like Oliver Platt, Judy Greer, and Hank Azeria round out the cast quite well
Smiles and chuckles, but no belly laughs. Slight waves of caring, but no real emotion. Serious subject matter, but no real drama. Oh well.

Regarding BigdaddyDave’s Review
Great review BigD. This movie was so heavily hyped, but your OK rating and bottom line statement “Deep viewing for those who like emotional tear-jerker type movies.” seem to get to the essence of it.
