Having grown up on Tintin, I was really eager to see this film, and I had a lot of fun seeing it. The quick progression of clue to adventure, to clue, to adventure and so on was true to the original. Never boring, with ample action and plenty of light hearted humor. The animation was perfect for this story as it added enough of the surrealism to be true to the books, but enough realism to let you bond with the characters. If you are older, you may not be as blown away as recent big-ticket movies that are out these days – but TinTin has a huge heart and has a story that I believe carries much more wonder and imagination than most movies you’ll see these days.
They had the characters down pat. I think everyone’s favorite will end up being the salty Captain Haddock, and what’s not to love about Snowy?
Fantastic animation and an excellent homage to the original storytelling.
Regarding Wick’s Review
I did grow up with TinTin comic books, and I can’t wait to see this!
