Summary - Very Good 3.5

A true story about Max Manus, a famous Norwegian resistance fighter. He and his band would do anything they could to thwart the Nazi machine. From vandalism and writing illegal newspapers to being trained as a saboteur and being dropped in behind enemy lines to wreak havoc. And wreak havoc they did, bombing docked freighters, destroying railway lines, whatever it took. Unfortunately it was at great personal sacrifice as the Nazis needed their pound of flesh. Max Manus the movie is a great edge of your seat wartime movie, and you will enjoy seeing it from the unique perspective of these daring Norwegian saboteurs.

Acting - Very Good 3.5

Aksel Hennie is convincing as the fair haired, blue eyed hero. He makes the girls swoon, the guys laugh, and the Nazis cringe.

“You can’t make this stuff up” the old adage goes… so why bother touching it up? Max Manus tells it like it is, although I did read they left out many other exciting stories to make it fit within a reasonable amount of time. Great acting, beautiful scenery (especially the Scotland shots), and solid action deserves filming kudos.
