Summary - Great 4.0
Loved it! Prometheus is sort of an homage to a few of our space thriller favorites. Alien and 2001 a Space Odyssey. Even some of the sense of discovery in Star Trek can be detected. The idea of heading out in an ultra-cool spacecraft to discover our alien forbears is easy to grasp as a story, and facing the unknown is as scary as ever. I saw this on a mega 3D screen, which was mostly worth it in my opinion. Strap yourself in and take off with this one. The ride is fun!
Acting - Very Good 3.5
My two favorites were Michael Fassbender as David and Noomi Rapace as Dr Shaw. Remember “HAL†from Space Odyssey? Well David is HAL in human form. Loved the classic connection! Noomi Rapace eventually surpasses even the venerable and excellently cold Charlize Theron and steals the show as the vulnerable yet tough scientist. I also liked Idris Elba as the captain Janek.

This movie has everything you want in a good sci-fi thriller. Amazing star-ships, scary ass alien monsters, mysterious human-like alien life-forms, great action and special effects, and tense drama.
