BrianSez's Review

Summary - Very Good 3.5

Looks like a comedy, seems like a comedy, but wait…. it’s a drama, and a good one at that.
Stoner dude Jeff (Jason Segel) stumbles upon an MJ-fueled alternate reality that happens to meanderingly guide events and weave together a wacky story about him and his funny family. Witness his a-hole brother Pat(Ed Helms) and almost adulterous wife Linda (Judy Greer), or mom (Susan Sarandon) who sparks an interesting relationship at work. The combination of funny actors and dramatic-touching tale somehow works, despite moments where I thought it might tank. I stuck with it and ended up with a big smile on my face. That’s entertainment.

Acting - Very Good 3.5

Jason Segel was a natural at the spacy and naive Jeff, and Ed Helms was pretty-Ok as his dick brother – albeit slightly less believable. As for Susan Sarandon – she’s a pro as ever, and Judy Greer gets away with just being herself.

Really great review Bri. I rated the movie a click higher than you, but your Summary nails it on the head.
