Ok, so I put off seeing this for many years, but I finally bit the bullet and watched the teenage phenomena fueling Twilight. Well, apparently I wasn’t missing much. Other than the beautiful Washington rainy backdrop, it was an amalgam of unlikely events strung together to highlight the the teenage pairing of Kristen Stewart with the vampire heartthrob Robert Pattison. In other words, it was little more than a not so great high school movie made unique by the vampire angle. Even worse, the vampire stuff wasn’t even that good or scary, and the romance was nearly gag-inducing. Bleh.
Kristen Stewart – Why did she gain so much popularity from this? I couldn’t discern any notable acting talent, other than the ability to look morose and behave overly dramatically.
Robert Pattison – At least he was expected to be lifeless looking; Wonder if he’s that way in other films. His attempts at appearing strong and protective were just, well, contrived.
Billy Burke – Not a bad job as Kristen’s dad.
Kudos for the scenic parts of the film. I also actually really enjoyed the scenes with the “vegitarian†(lol!) vampire family who tried to impress Kristen’s character. Other than that, well, apparently it did well enough to get sequel action. Or maybe that was the book.

“Robert Pattison was expected to be lifeless looking; Wonder if he’s that way in other films?” Funny.
Love the review AMC. Very amusing.
