Lured in by a YouTube link to this free full length movie by an FB post, I had plenty of reservations about seeing a sequel to a movie I never heard of. Well, I got pulled in. It isn’t in line with my viewing history: the plot is hugely implausible. I mean, really, getting the ability to predict deaths by virtue of experiencing a near death experience? Then, to top it all off, there is an evil twist that dooms you if you save folks who would otherwise soon die? It had my head swimming. But, what kept me there was some really decent acting and some compelling action/horror/thriller scenes that left me wanting to see what happened next. Yeah, like Paranormal – but much more well done that that.
It was all led by an actor unknown to me, Nathon Fillon who genuinely does a good job of dramatically taking on the victim of tragedy turned hero. Katee Sackhoff, even less known, is not as polished, but makes a decent pairing for Nathon.
An interesting bit of trivia is that a Rush fan turned me on to this film because it has a scene that features an elementary school choir singing Rush’s ‘Spirit of Radio’. What a way to get introduced to a movie – but it worked.
