BrettHarrison's Review

Summary - Pretty Awful 0.5

Prequels are pretty tough to pull off but it’s usually a good idea to have some of the original talent on board. In this execrable prequel to “Dumb and Dumber”, a movie I happen to like a lot, there are none of the original people. Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are not here. The Farrelly brothers are no where to be found. The only resemblance this movie bears to “Dumb and Dumber” are the characters Harry and Lloyd. Although the original one could be raunchy it was also very inventive and often hilarious. This movie has one or two laughs but they only serve to remind you how bad the rest is.

Acting - OK 2.5

To be honest Eric Richardson and Eric Christian Olsen give it the old college try but it’s not enough. Really they’re better than okay but I can’t in good conscience go better than “ok” given how bad the movie is. And Bob Saget, who actually can be pretty good, is quite bad in this.

Edge - Sordid 2.6

Not sure if Sordid is the word for it but the toilet humor is pretty extreme especially a running gag(and I do MEAN running gag) involving melted chocolate. It’s made edgier by the fact that the extreme moments are just not funny.

Sex Erotic 2.6

Violence Brutal 2.6

Rudeness Profane 2.6

It rates a 3 here because in the real world people like this would not be allowed to live.
