Anything with Diane Lane and John Cusack in it is worth checking out but as romantic comedies go, this is hardly the top of the heap. Cusack and Lane look like they don’t really like each other and Gary David Goldberg, who has done great work in TV, seems to not have a handle on the genre. Not a horrible movie with some nice moments but could have been much better.
Cusack and Lane have been better but Christopher Plummer is just fine.
It’s a nice production but looks a little too slick and the writing tends towards generalities and pat resolution.
