Summary - Great 4.0

Usually by the 3rd installment in a series, many movie franchises start to falter. Not Iron Man. Robert Downey Jr once again delivers his great brand of sarcastic super hero. New bad dude Guy Pearce brings the heat, and Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle come through as wing-gal and guy respectively. There are some tremendous action scenes with lots of mayhem and gadgetry, but I think equally as impressive is the cast. So many great contributions (read below) – feels more like a team effort rather than a one-man show this time around. Big fun on the big screen!

Acting - Great 4.0

Robert Downey delivers predictably. Dare I say he’s looking slightly more weathered? In his case, it’s a good thing. He wise-ness balances his wise-ass-ness.

Ah Gwyneth Paltrow. She too has matured. Instead of just eye candy, she actually contributes in a significant way. Bravo.

Don Cheadle – They should play him up more. He makes a great wingman. Not as great as Jarvis, but still….

Guy Pearce makes a great bad guy! His character smells like trouble even before it becomes evident.

Rebecca Hall is decent as the ex one-night-stand turned enemy.

Jon Favreau is a nice complement to the Stark community. Funny and solid.

Paul Bettany – Love him as the voice of Jarvis. If I had a computerized attendant – I would like a voice just like his.

Ben Kingsley – This was the pleasant surprise from casting. Evil as hell when he wants to be, then funny as hell the next minute. Nice!

Stephanie Szostak – A hot bad-ass. Nice combination for a film like this.

Ty Simpkins – Good job as the young accomplice.

    Regarding Tripod’s Review
Tripod unbound. So many quips to consume, reading your review felt a bit like listening to Downey in the movie.

I’m working on my review now. Gonna go somewhere in Great territory.

Downey’s “wise-ness balances his wise-ass-ness.” Great line in a great review. Got me looking forward to seeing the movie, that’s for sure.
