BrianSez's Review

Summary - Great 4.0

Cowboy Tom Cruise struts his stuff in this cool sci-fi mystery thriller. The review-pundits were hot-and-cold, but I was decidedly hot. I love out of this world movie premises, and Oblivion made me happy. I would have stayed happy even if it stayed as a simple good-guy vs. bad-guy thriller with plenty of shoot-em-up sci-fi action. But wait, there’s more. Witness some 20th century holdout cowboy antics, Jetson’s living coolness, major plot twists and reveals under a 2001 Space Odyssey aura with some eye-candy for both sexes also. Not bad, in fact, its’ great stuff.

Acting - Very Good 3.5

Tom Cruise is, well, Tom Cruise. You know him by now, you expected it, and you get it.
Morgan Freeman has more of a supporting role, and yes – he too dilvers what you’ve seen in all his other roles.
Andrea Riseborough is calm, cool, and hot as the sky-bound sidekick
Late arriving Olga Kurylenko is no slouch either, and Melissa Leo provides some video-screen delivered acting goods.
