Jimmy and his crew of rebellious “mods†wreak havoc and have rollicking good times finding the next party, chasing women, thumbing their noses at adults and getting into it with the “rockers.†Sex, drugs, rock-and-roll, and plenty of violence. As you’d expect in any good coming of age story, things unravel. In Jimmy’s case – I’d call it angrily enlightened. So, 34 years after it was made, I can say that Quad ended up being a good movie with a great soundtrack and an awesome transport to the 60’s. Not to be missed.
Phil Daniels was perfect for the role of Jimmy. Not smooth, not good looking, aggressive – and naive in a rough-edged way.
Leslie Ash as Steph made for a great side-kick. Both unattainable, and also very fitting for Jimmy.
Chalky, Dave, and Monkey were decently played by Philip Davis, Mark Wingett, and Toyah Wilcox. Well, at least I’ll remember their characters.
Sting is a bit awkward as Ace Face – the leader of the mods. Who knew he was “Bellboyâ€!
I’m going great simply for the soundtrack. Even the parts that weren’t by the Who!

Great take from a non-Quad fanatic. Thanks Bri!
