Most war movies are must-see for me, but Lone Survivor is a must-see for everyone. Especially if you think you are a U.S. patriot. It envelopes you in the midst of deep heroism while reminding you that heroism doesn’t always equate to victory. It shows you quite graphically that being a Navy Seal is the sh*t. It demonstrates to you that human will can conquer unbelievable challenges. Your sense of pride will well up emotionally as you think about Medal of Honor and Navy Cross worthy actions of our brothers, and you will be reminded that human kindness for one another is what life is all about. Yeah, Ok – and of course there is tons of awesome Seals kicking-ass action that will have you fist-pumping and exclaiming “Don’t fu*k with us ‘mericans!â€. Lone Survivor is a front-running entrant in to a long list of first-class war movies that will be watched for years to come.
Wahlberg, Kitsch, Hirsch, Foster – these guys kick ass enough on their own, but as a Seal team? “Hoo Rah!â€. Not too wordy but foreboding is Yousuf Azami who portreys a hated Taliban just like you imagined. Then there’s Ali Suliman as Gulab Khan – who literally saves our skin by being loyal to Pashtun customs.
