Summary - OK 2.5
This is a toned-down Jackass. Think of it as more of a ‘Candid Camera’ feel – which focuses more on the reactions to more toned down antics than on trying to go over the top like the previous Jackass installments. This was actually refreshing, and admit it — it is kind of funny thinking about a kindly-looking old grandpa doing some crazy sh*t with his grand-kid. My favorite was having him compete in an all girls beauty pageant by performing Shirley Temple songs. Most folks who were exposed were caught by surprise – just like Candid used to do, and that generated lots of lol.
Acting - Good 3.0
Johnny Knoxville has grown up – in reality and on the screen. He relies more on his ability to spoof rather than go crazy with stunts. This is a logical and good move for his career.
