Wes Anderson’s creativity shines once again at the Grand Budapest Hotel. I think it is his best so far. Budapest is a story with the intricacies and unlikelihood of a Rube Goldberg concoction and old-school slapstick humor reminiscent of comedies made in the 30’s and 40’s. It will bring a consistent smile to your face, only to be interrupted with bursts of LOL moments. Besides the quirky and inventive sets, the cast acts like a well coached team moving in unison, albeit Ralph Fiennes and Tony Revolori do most of the heavy lifting. Bottom line is that you should not miss this film.
In the spirit of my laziness, I’m not going to go through the entire cast. Suffice it to say – once you see all the names, your expectations will skyrocket – and they will be met!. Regarding Ralph Fiennes – his bisexual perfectionist butler persona deserves major kudos, and tony Revolori is as good as a side-kick as you’ll ever see.
