Summary - Very Good 3.5

Angelina Jolie & Anne Archer’s seductive performances elevate Mojave Moon from failed laffer to delightful catnip.

The movie’s about two exceptionally seductive women and the men they attract. Angie plays Anne’s daughter ‘Elie’ Rigby, which has to be the cutest nickname ever. Danny Aiello, 59, plays a guy who says he’s 53 and flirts with girls who are 23. Yet he’s a dullard, incapable of reacting with anything beyond simple courtesy. Who’s procuring whom is a question that arises early.

Jolie’s seductive diner scene is a sexy turn for the ages. Parading around braless in tight shirt and short pleated skirt, Aiello is putty in her hands. See for yourself in the nearby video.

Something Wild in the high desert, 21 year old Angelina Jolie, Mojave Moon glimmers pretty brightly.

Acting - Very Good 3.5

Mojave Moon features a pair of Hollywood’s sexiest actresses: one just entering her prime, the other looking at it in the rear view mirror. Produced in ’96, Angelina Jolie was just 21, exploding as one of the hottest Hollywood starlets ever. Anne Archer is achingly beautiful as her still vibrant Mother.

When two gorgeous gals like that are in a movie, they pretty much gotta play Mother – Daughter.

Danny Aiello is more anchorman than leading man. The part calls for stolid and he delivers stolid.

• Michael Biehn is stupid scary as Boyd, Anne Archer’s abusive boyfriend.
• Alfred Molina is very funny as Aiello’s buddy, a hungry actor
• Jack Noseworthy leaves not much of a trace as Angie’s BF. No wonder he’s been working mostly TV since this movie.
• Peter MacNicol has a brief insane scene

Film - Good 3.0

TV Director Kevin Dowling working from writer Leonard Glasser’s one big screenplay produced a film that’s stylish more than smart. In fact the whole thing is rather dumb, or at least celebrates dumb.
