Summary - Very Good 3.5

I never thought I’d give less than a ‘Great’ for a Marvel Avengers movie, but despite the action awesomeness and really great cast, I’m giving it a few demerits for (a) just too long with too much going on, and (b) failure to develop characters any further. For the first time, it felt like a true writing-mill sequel. Don’t get me wrong – you’ll love it, but as a long-time Marvel follower I expected more — or something different. For those of you who are more forgiving of the franchise, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Black Widow, and Hawkeye impress as usual. Newcomers Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are cool. My pick though? James Spader as Ultron… no amount of evil looking armor can disguise his trademark snarkiness – and it’s great.

Acting - Really Great 4.5

Film - Very Good 3.5

Edge - Risqué 2.1

Reality - Supernatural 4.0
