Summary - Great 4.0
Deadpool is the superhero for a new generation, one that casually talks about a guy having a great ass. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. It is – however – a new thing, with Deadpool now being a big thing.
Ryan Reynolds is ideal to play Mr. Pool, a wisecracking stud who describes himself as “pansexual.” Yes, there’s a new term to learn. Not surprisingly, the story takes places in strip clubs, amongst Johns & Jills.
Marvel never lets down. Its endless supply of killer storyboards includes a mercenary known as the “Merc with a Mouth”, introduced as one of the New Mutants in 1991. RR is great fun in the motormouthed role.
Marvel stories always have attitude. This one mixes the pansexual with more than a little bit of the ultra. That makes it a bad reflection on society today. It also makes it deadly fun. Debonair Deadpool delivers.

Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson / Deadpool
Ryan joins Burt in the Reynolds Hall of Fame, wherever that may be. He’s always been unfairly handsome, he’s never been funnier. Nor richer, as huge hit Deadpool is for him what Iron Man became for Downey.
A mercenary who is subjected to an experimental regenerative mutation to cure his cancer, which gives him accelerated healing superpowers, but severely scars his body. Reynolds called this version of Deadpool more “authentic” and closer to the comic version than his X-Men Origins: Wolverine version, saying that this Deadpool “takes nothing seriously.”

Ed Skrein as Francis Freeman / Ajax
An artificially-mutated member of Weapon X, the program that creates Deadpool. Ajax is a weapons expert, with enhanced strength and an inability to feel pain. According to Tim Miller, Skrein did ‘80%’ of his own stunts, with stunt doubles only used for rigged stunts.

Rated R for a reason, Deadpool makes sport of decency. It’s gleefully indecent.
It also introduces a lead character who’s more than bisexual, he’s pansexual. Yeah, another term to learn. Blamed on the deathly toxins that went through his mind, its affect is to turn him into a coquettish rogue.
