BrianSez's Review

Summary - Perfect 5.0

The homage to the old-school crew, action, humor, and butt-cheek clenching escapes from unlikely predicaments continues in the movie franchise’s lucky 13th installment. The bad guy Krall and his crew are bad-ass opponents, and if that isn’t enough, Justin Lin puts stellar (pun intended) special effects to use in creating maximum big-screen enjoyment, and Pegg puts in some touching moments that salute Nimoy and the original crew. Perfect.

Acting - Really Great 4.5

What is not to like about this crew? Chris Pine (Kirk), Zachary Quinto (Spock), Karl Urban (McCoy), Zoe Saldana (Uhura), Simon Pegg (Scotty), the late Anton Yelchin (Checkov) are like peas in a pod and quickly gathering fan-loyalty in the same way as the TV Series greats did. Idris Elba was awesome as Krall, and Sofia Boutella was respectable as Jaylah, but John Cho (Sulu) was a bit forgettable.
