BrianSez's Review

Summary - Great 4.0

A moving chess movie you say? Yeah – I didn’t think it was possible either, but the story of Fischer v Spasky was inspiring. The crazy paranoid Brooklyn boy reveals his brilliance before an eventual spiral towards insanity. The chess community was equally as crazy as they too-patiently dealt with Bobby’s antics just for repeat glimpses at the brilliance. New York historians will also really like this film for the highlights of the Russian immigrant community in Brooklyn in the late 40’s – early 50’s. Not to miss!

Acting - Really Great 4.5

Toby Maguire was realy great as the psychotic Fischer – it was in his eyes; xxx really great as the priest who seconded Bobby
