BrianSez's Review

Summary - Great 4.0

I wonder if BP’s stock took another hit when this movie was released – just like it did during the disaster. Peter Berg lays the foundation of the money-hungry corporation vs. the hardworking Texas oilmen. Wahlberg and Russell play their roughneck roles very well. Russel is the grisled leader and Wahlberg is the ‘Yes Sir’ right-hand-man that knows more than he lets on. Despite knowing the outcome, the film does a great job of having you shaking your head and fretting over the situational build up to the disaster. And as for the big-screen version of the disaster? You aren’t going to get much better than Deepwater; From body crushing mud to steel-melting flames, it is a miracle that anyone survived, and Berg doesn’t let you forget that.
