Pixar ain’t what they used to be, their once pristine profile sullied by second-rate fare and poor box office. Finding Dory was supposedly a rare victory for them, derivative sequel though it was. Turns out it’s also second-rate, especially compared to Finding Nemo, the wonderful movie from whence it sprang.
Ellen DeGeneres is adorable in that Ellen DeGeneres way of hers. Everyone else in the large cast is wasted.
These fish are more human than the real people at most public gatherings, meaning Finding Dory is guilty of extreme anthropomorphism, suggesting it’s more Disney than Pixar.
