Summary - Great 4.0

A cinematic success, Moonlight follows the life of a gay black kid from his childhood in a crackhead household, to his self discovery and schoolyard survival to a young adulthood among violence and thug life. The movie is artistic and insightful – definitely not your usual ‘rise above it’ story. The standouts are the great cinematography and the slow developing of the characters, who are genuinely interesting. It was well deserving of its 3 Oscars.
